Andriy Lyubka

Andriy Lyubka, born in 1987 in Riga, Latvia, is a Ukrainian writer, translator, essayist, and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He serves as a member of the Committee for the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine and is Vice President of Ukrainian PEN. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Lyubka has been one of the country’s most active civilian volunteers, raising funds and delivering more than 415 vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For this work, he has received medals from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Minister of Defence of Ukraine. He is the recipient of the Joseph Conrad Literary Award (2024) and the Jerzy Giedroyc Literary Award (2026). In 2023, he was included in Ukrainska Pravda‘s list of the 100 Leaders of Ukraine. From 2024 to 2026, he served as director of the Institute for Central European Strategy (ICES).
