
Artur Dron
Artur Dron is a Ukrainian writer, a veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian War, and a member of Ukrainian PEN. He is the author of the poetry collections Dormitory No. 6 (Hurtozhytok No. 6) and We Were Here (Tut Buly My), as well as the documentary testimony book Hemingway Knows Nothing. In 2025, he received the Shevelov Prize. Born on December 31, 2000, in the Rohatyn region of western Ukraine, he has lived in Lviv since 2017. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and worked as an event manager at The Old Lion Publishing House. From March 2022 to July 2025, he served in the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking part in combat operations in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. His poetry collection We Were Here has been translated and published in English, French, Polish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Lithuanian. His documentary book Hemingway Knows Nothing is scheduled for publication in nine countries by the end of this year. His new collection of poetry and testimonies, Saint Panteleimon Hospital, will be published by The Old Lion Publishing House later this year.
