Ana Gallego Cuiñas

Ana Gallego Cuiñas is Professor of Latin American Literature at the University of Granada and an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of contemporary literature, cultural sociology, feminist criticism, and platform capitalism. Her research focuses on the global circulation of literature, publishing infrastructures, literary festivals, digital cultures, and technologies of literary celebrity in the Spanish-speaking world. In 2025, she was appointed Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis in recognition of her international leadership and innovative research on contemporary literary and cultural studies. She has led numerous international research projects and academic networks devoted to world literature, editorial mediation, feminism, and digital cultural analysis, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Gallego Cuiñas is also deeply engaged in the public humanities and contemporary cultural debate. She is the founder and co-director of CULTUR-ALH. Festival Internacional de Arte, Literatura y Humanidades, an international festival based in Granada that brings together literature, philosophy, critical thought, and artistic experimentation. She is the director of “Mujer, papel y tijera. El juego de la edición” (2025), a documentary on the global publishing industry and contemporary literary culture. The film received the Silver Biznaga at the Málaga Film Festival and has been selected by several international festivals across Europe and Latin America.
