
Constanze Spengler
Constanze Spengler, born in 1971, studied illustration and communication design in Hamburg. Since 1999, she has been working as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. She designs book covers, illustrates children’s and school books, and develops visual concepts for book series. She especially enjoys writing and illustrating her own stories, including picture books and the children’s book series centered around the Hirschkäfer-Grill. Most recently, she published the picture books Seepferdchen sind ausverkauft (“Sea Horses Are Sold Out”) and Am Leuchtturm gibt es Erdbeereis (“There’s Strawberry Ice Cream at the Lighthouse”) with Katja Gehrmann through Moritz Verlag. These books earned them awards such as the Leipzig Reading Compass and the 1st Darmstadt Heinerchen. Constanze Spengler lives and works in Hamburg.
