Pamela Biermann
Pamela Biermann was born in 1963. As the daughter of a dancer and an opera singer, she was artistically influenced from an early age. As a singer, she first appeared in public in 2012 at the Berliner Ensemble. The evening of songs with her husband Wolf Biermann was followed by numerous concerts in many cities across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Their joint albums Ach, die erste Liebe in 2013 and, together with the free jazz musicians Zentralquartett, …paar eckige Runden drehn! in 2016 were released. In 2024, she contributed to Wolf Biermann’s album Ermutigung.
Pamela Biermann studied history and works as an editor, co-author, painter, literary and concert agent, and manager. She initiated and contributed to numerous book publications, events, albums, and films. She is the founder and director of the Wolf Biermann Archiv. As a founding member of Schotstek, a scholarship program for students with a migration background, she advocates for equal opportunities in Hamburg. In 2017, Pamela Biermann and Wolf Biermann, together with the Neues Zentralquartett, launched a joint tour calling for high voter turnout and the strengthening of democracy. This remains a central concern in the new program Ach, die erste Liebe… as well.
