Yvonne Bindrim

Yvonne Bindrim, born in Berlin in 1981, has been focussing on the cultures and societies of the Baltic Sea region since her studies. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Fennistics at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre Baltic Sea Region (IFZO) at the University of Greifswald, where she is researching populism in Estonia. During her studies, she translated short stories from Finnish and Estonian into German and later led student translation projects (New Nordic Novellas). Today, her literary focus is on Estonia; she translates contemporary poetry as well as classics of Estonian poetry. Yvonne Bindrim lives in Berlin.
