Steinunn Sigurðardóttir (Iceland)

Nachtdämmern (Nightfall)

The Icelandic poet presents her award-winning cycle of poems. In Nachtdämmern, she creates a literary monument to the dying Vatnajökull glacier – the ice giant of her childhood. Through her verses, Sigurðardóttir captures the slow disappearance of a world: melting glaciers, eternal dusks, and the burning question of our future. In Kristof Magnusson’s German translation, this poetic elegy unfolds its full power – a moving meditation on loss and hope.
