
Teo Chiriac
Teo Chiriac (born 29 May 1956 in Coșernița) is a poet, essayist and journalist, and one of the important voices of contemporary Romanian-language poetry in the Republic of Moldova. He graduated in Journalism from the Faculty of Philology at Moldova State University in 1979. He worked for Moldova’s National Radio and for the Literatura Artistică and Hyperion publishing houses. He is editor-in-chief of Revista literară and, since 2021, President of the Writers’ Union of Moldova. A member of the writers’ unions of both Moldova and Romania, he has published poetry and essays in journals and anthologies at home and abroad. His distinctions include the National Prize for Literature and several awards of the Writers’ Union of Moldova.
