Mircea V. Ciobanu

Mircea V. Ciobanu (born 29 February 1956 in Petreni, Drochia) is a poet, novelist, playwright, essayist, literary critic and historian, as well as a book editor. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Moldova State University. His career brings together literary creation, criticism, literary history and publishing; he has contributed reviews and essays to major cultural journals in the Republic of Moldova and Romania and has co-authored Romanian-language and literature textbooks and teaching materials. He is editor-in-chief of Știința Publishing House. His work encompasses poetry, drama, the novel and numerous critical studies devoted to Romanian literature in Bessarabia.
