Iulian Fruntașu

Iulian Fruntașu (born 5 July 1970 in Chișinău) is a poet, prose writer, essayist, diplomat and foreign-policy analyst. After studying philology, he entered the diplomatic service and worked with OSCE missions in Georgia and the former Yugoslavia. He served as a representative of the Republic of Moldova to the OSCE, foreign-policy adviser to the Prime Minister and Ambassador to the United Kingdom. His writing ranges from poetry and political history to essays and short fiction, exploring war, identity, the post-Soviet transition and diplomatic experience. His debut volume, Beata in the Pouch, received the Writers’ Union of Moldova Prize.
